Continuing Medical Education

10th European Congress: Perspectives in Lung Cancer is designated for a maximum of 10 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that she/he actually spent in the educational activity.

EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association toward the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA Category 1 credit, contact the AMA.

Who Should Attend
This educational activity is intended for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, thoracic surgeons and pulmonologists in active clinical practice interested and/or involved in the management of patients with thoracic cancer.

Objectives
After successfull completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Describe the epidemiology of lung cancer and current screening techniques
  • Compare and contrast computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and invasive procedures in the staging of lung cancer
  • Discuss the emerging role of targeted therapies in the treatment of lung cancer
  • Review the current management and treatment options of early-stage and advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
  • Identify current treatment options for pleural mesothelioma
  • Describe recent advances in the management of small cell lung cancer (SCLC)
  • Evaluate the use of adjuvant chemotherapy as a standard of care in stage I lung cancer
